Anthony had his hands full from the get-go.  My sister Lori has always been an angry person.  Although he was 15 years older and nearly our mother’s age, she seemed happier.   At first.  Then everything started all over again.  Anthony went from living alone and fishing every spare moment to her controlling each and every aspect of his life.  I remember when they lived out on this houseboat.  She was so spiteful and heartless,  when she was mad about something she would throw items of his outside the front door and straight into the water, never to be seen again. 

Once, my boyfriend and I were invited to go fishing on Anthony’s boat.  We  had barely made it out of the marina area when to everyone’s suprise, out of nowhere and right in front of us, Lori threw a freshly brewed full thermos of coffee right in Anthony’s face.  I told them to turn around, never again..never would I go visit them there.

Although Lori was constantly hiting him, they had a few good moments when they weren’t fighting.  She was so unpredictable.  I wonder if she is what they consider bypolar?

Anthony spiralled downhill immediately after he met her.  The first way for Lori to manipulate Anthony is by getting pregnant.  There, she has him by the nards.  A quickie marriage and then it became instant insecurity with Lori.  Maybe there was post-partum depression, I don’t know. 

Things calmed down when they moved 300 miles away to manage apartments.  Well, they calmed down for me anyway.  After they moved, Anthony would confide in me now and then when we spoke on the phone, he would tell me how vicious and psychotic she could be. 

While Anthony was a doting father and managing the apartment complex, Lori went out and found a job so they could make ends meet.  Lori was so insecure she that Anthony had no key to their car, she hid his clothes or ruined the nice ones before she would leave for work.  She hid one of every pair of shoe he had and would take the earpiece to the home phone with her so he couldn’t call anyone.   She totally cut him off from familyand friends, and his favorite thing..fishing.  But he let her.

Finally, it got so bad and the cops were called so many times that they finally divorced and they awarded full custody of my nephew to Anthony.  At least something good came from all the suffering. 

Lori will spend time kicking up her heals and enjoying single life before she catches the eye of Lance, soon to be husband number three.
